After the pleasantries and introductions
And shimmering first impressions
After the swipe right match
And ending of so many gone lefts
After the nice to meet you too
And we have so much in common!
After the we finally slept together
And nights of passion unrestrained
After the champagne toasts
And expensive dinner dates
After the cow’s been slaughtered
And the ribeye steak ate
After the balloons have shrank
And slumped to the floor, deflated
After the last petal withers
And falls from the rosebud
After the decomposition
And feeding the soil slugs
After all of the pomp and circumstance
Then what, of love?
